the mind, body, spirit connection

I’ve been a bit complacent about my diet lately. I have a good understanding of nutrition and am usually pretty selective about what I eat. I can become very tired if I eat too much junk. Since the cancer diagnosis I have jumped to attention and I must say that I am really feeling good at the moment. I won’t go into all the diet stuff but I can make it very simply by pointing out what should be obvious:
Eat Live Food if you want to be A-Live.

Deep breathing is a 3 times a day routine. I must oxygenate myself as thoroughly as I can. It is the fastest and most effective way I know of to increase vitality. It is believed by many that cancer cells do not like an oxygenated environment. There is plenty of info on this topic on the web if you wish to know more.

I find it interesting and frustrating looking for a solution to a problem that no one seems to fully understand. Like arthritis and many other diseases the ‘specialists or authorities or experts’ have to admit that they don’t really know what causes them and they also admit that they can’t predict how successful their treatments will be. My position at the moment comes down to this:

Trust me, I am the way. I don’t know what created it and I can’t really say that I can cure it. But, I’m the best chance you have at the moment.

I can give you a number of statistics about likely causes and likely outcomes. We have spent billions of dollars on research and you can study that if you wish. We might cut of your breasts and fill you with poison and radiation. So far, that appears to be working well for many. I can show you the stats if you wish.

Mmmmmmmm…

At the other end of the scale, there are countless experts who all seem to have the answer: Psychic surgery, urine therapy, faith healers, peroxide therapy, vitamin therapy, herbal formulas, blah, blah, blah…
It’s in the food, hormones, chlorine, fluoride, food additives, colouring and preservatives, DDT, air pollution, dairy, wheat and meat, aluminium poisoning, deodorant, wired bras, love bites, fizzy drinks, blah, blah, blah.

SHOW ME THE PROOF! Make it 100% applicable to 100% of the people. Writing it in a book or posting it on a website does not make it so! If there is an absolute cause or an absolute cure then the evidence and the excitement would travel like wildfire. We would all know someone who could prove this to be true. Why is it always someone who knows someone who knew of a woman…?

What I do know is this: when my arthritis was at its worst I was able to manage it with diet, meditation, breathing techniques and lifestyle changes. I went 10 years without any medication and greatly controlled the fatigue and the pain. Most of the time, I could forget that it was still lurking there in the background. A couple of times I became complacent and got myself into a whole heap of trouble. If I allow my diet to become too acidic it will flare up. If I get too tired or stressed it will also flare up. I am sure the same principles will apply to this disease.

Emotional stress, or emotional baggage to be more precise, can have a huge influence on our health. Its tricky stuff to work with as most of us bury our pain from our awareness. No one wants to go excavating pain. It’s too easy to tell ourselves we are over it, it’s done, all complete, long forgotten and resolved. You reckon? Just let someone go pushing those buttons of yours and you will see how over it you are.

Most of us are familiar with the mind, body, spirit connection by now. Anyone with a serious interest in healing must have come across the idea that what goes on in the mind will influence the emotions and that will ultimately show up in the body. Some say that it is the whole story and others believe that it is hugely influential either in creating disease or at the very least in the healing process.

So I am going to go in and have a long and serious talk with this lump to see what it has to tell me...
