What's the answer God?
I find modern medicine quite barbaric and I really struggle to accept things like poisoning the body, chopping into it, filling it with radiation or adding foreign substances. I do believe that natural healing, nutrition, lifestyle changes and stress reduction are the ideal healing modalities.Ultimately, it is always the immune system which heals. Sometimes though we need to surrender to things which appear to aid or compliment healing. It's a risk - it's a gamble and it is really confusing. Cancer is considered to be a life threatening disease and is unkind about giving us time to consider other options. At the moment i feel pushed into going against my instincts and accept that this might be the best short term solution. It reminds me of this little story:
A flood came and a man had to climb onto the roof of his house. As the waters rose a neighbor in a rowboat appeared, and told him to get in. "No," replied the man on the roof, "the Lord will save me." Then a firefighter appeared in a speedboat. "Climb in!" shouted the firefighter. "No," replied the man on the roof, "The Lord will save me." A helicopter appeared and the pilot shouted that he would lower a rope to the man on the roof. "No," replied the man on the roof, "the Lord will save me." Eventually the man drowned and went to heaven, where he asked God why He hadn't helped him. "I sent a neighbor, a firefighter, and helicopter," said God. "What more do you want?"
